Sydney Duo sign for Thornham
12 November 2021
Thornham CC are delighted to announce the signings of Australian duo Jake Hardy and Kobe Allison as overseas amateurs for the 2022 season. The 21-year-olds originate from New South Wales and both play for North Sydney who play in the NSW premier cricket league.
Jake is a right-handed top order batsman who despite his tender years has already racked up over 7,000 career runs. Jake can also bowl medium pace. The 2019/20 season saw him make his first grade debut in the NSW premier cricket league.
Kobe is a hard hitting right hand middle order batsman and right arm medium quick, playing in second grade last season. In 2019 he represented Chertsey in the Surrey Championship, amassing nearly 800 runs including 2 centuries and 2 fifties, as well as contributing a very useful 39 wickets.
Both players come highly recommended by both county and state cricketers. Chairman Andrew Micklethwaite said “I am delighted to be able to add two young exciting batsmen to the ranks of the First XI. Bringing in overseas recruits has been a business model that has worked very well for us over the last few years, and I expect that trend to continue. Not only will they be a huge boost to the Club on the field, I expect they will be a hit off the field as well, and the summer of 2022 is already shaping up to be an exciting one”.
Captain Paddy McMahon added “I’m excited to welcome both Jake and Kobe to Thornham. I am sure that they will make a big contribution in our push for promotion next season”.
Thornham CC would like to thank James Cole and CricX for their support in making these arrangements.
